Playing our part as distributor
Since the start of this public health crisis, we have been more mobilised than ever so that the populations of all the countries where we operate can continue to shop in the safest possible conditions. All our stores and Drives are open, and our teams are committed to serving our customers well. In this context, we are keen on fulfilling our role as a retailer, with safety, responsibility and solidarity as our priorities.

Protecting our teams
The protection of our teams, whether they work in our logistics centres, our stores and drives or our home delivery services, is a priority. Towards this end, we have made hydro-alcoholic gel, gloves and masks widely available. At all our sites, we communicate about the need to adopt virus-halting behaviours. We have implemented protection at the check-out for our cashier hosts and hostesses (sneeze guards, transparent screens and sheets, plexiglass panels, etc.).
In the stores, we have adjusted working hours so that employees can work in smaller numbers. Some work at night to restock the shelves, in the absence of customers.
In all our countries, our stores have remained open to serve the local population, enabling them to continue to provide for their needs, without any risk of shortage. It was through the commitment of our employees that this was possible. To pay tribute to this mobilisation, we have decided to reward our front office teams and those of our warehouses with an exceptional bonus, in line with the context and legal provisions of the countries concerned.
Protecting our customers
In our stores, alongside the necessary communication to foster compliance with virus-halting behaviours, we have laid out floor markings so that people can keep a safe distance (1 metre) from one another. Filtering at store entrances is organised to streamline traffic and avoid overcrowding at checkouts. We regularly disinfect our facilities, on the shop floors (checkout mats, touch screens, automatic checkouts, etc.) as well as shopping cart bars and handles.
In our Drives, we have rolled out the “No-Contact Drive” system, which protects both our teams and our customers.

Solidarity
In all our countries, our stores actively support local producers. We consistently give priority to local production, while guaranteeing volumes. We have opened our stores to local producers to enable them to sell their products and prevent waste. We have also encouraged our customers, through targeted communication, to consume fresh products such as fish or cheese, also of local origin.
This solidarity with the agricultural community is supplemented with solidarity with those who, in this time of crisis, are on the front line in combating the virus: the healthcare workers. Our teams have implemented initiatives to better serve them (special shopping access or hours, grocery delivery directly to hospitals, orders by phone, etc.) or recognise their exemplary commitment (donations of products, supplies of equipment or meals, etc.). We also support those who are most vulnerable today, including the elderly, the disabled, those living in isolation, pregnant women, etc. They are being offered special assistance, through associations or directly.
